This commercial island is famous for the colonnade of Gate Towers — one of the architectural wonders of the emirate. In the heart of the island is the University of Paris-Sorbonne Abu Dhabi, whose building is crowned by a magnificent dome. This is the first French university to open its doors in the Arabian Gulf, and the first international campus of this university.
