The education system in Dubai is in many ways similar to European education. There is a division into primary, secondary and higher education. Higher education, in turn, is divided into bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees.

One of the pride of the Middle Eastern “oasis country” UAE is its educational system, recognized by the world community as the most modern. This is not surprising, since it is quality education that is one of the priority state programs of the United Arab Emirates. This makes education a leader in the world ranking in terms of prestige and demand. Having adopted the centuries-old experience of the developed countries of the world in the field of education, the UAE government has created its own unique system of education, using a completely new methodological base. And today education in the UAE is a universal symbiosis of innovation, technogenicity and traditions. In addition, the high level of educational potential and the interest of the population initiated the creation in the country of elite universities of the international category and scientific and educational centers of the world’s largest technical companies.
Stages of education
There are two types of education in the UAE – public schools and private institutions. In the former, predominantly Arab children study, but recently foreigners have also been able to attend public schools. True, such training for them is paid. Private institutions are focused on national diasporas, where the entire curriculum meets the school standards of the countries of certain ethnic groups. This also determines the difference in teaching languages. However, the most common are still English and Arabic.
The education system in the UAE, like in many Western countries, is structured and consists of several stages. Secondary education as compulsory is enshrined at the legislative level. It lasts 12 years and is absolutely free.
Since the state pays great attention to the level and quality of education, all private educational institutions are subject to systematic ministerial inspections, and if they do not meet the required standards, they may be deprived of a license to operate. Notable features that distinguish the schools of the UAE from Western ones are the separate form of education for boys and girls, as well as the compulsory study of the Arabic language and the basics of Islam. The process of obtaining education consists of certain stages and includes:
- Children’s preschool education (kindergartens).
- Primary school.
- Preparatory school.
- Middle or high school.
- Vocational educational institutions.
- universities. Preschool education (4-5 years)

In fact, it is a preparatory stage of primary education. It is created in the form of training centers on the basis of schools, which, in turn, brings the educational process closer to the school atmosphere. Thus, the child not only acquires the cognitive skills he needs, but also mentally prepares for future long-term studies. Reading, writing and arithmetic form the basis of the kindergarten program. In addition, well-known world methods of early development and strengthening of physical health are actively used.
In general, the environment in preschool centers, which are under close state control, is safe, comfortable and maximally contributes to the comprehensive, harmonious development of the baby. Pre-school education in the UAE is not compulsory and must be paid for. If there are places in the kindergarten, registration is made throughout the school year. Also, some centers for children provide summer camps.
